Blognation is a network of technology blogs which are country specific. The blog network launched on July 1st this year and they have just launched an Irish specific blog.

The purpose of the new Irish network is to:

report on the Irish technology, enterprise and mobile markets as well as the people and events that make up this ecosystem.

In this regard the blog has kicked off with an excellent post about the state of web design and business start-ups in Ireland. Blog author Conor O’Neill looks at the lack of an Irish social network, with most communication being based around old style forums or international sites such as MySpace and Facebook. He also goes on to give a round up of what is coming out of Ireland in the form of cutting edge websites and web applications.

This is probably a good site to keep an eye on if you’re interested in web development in Ireland and I’d recommend adding this to your RSS feeds.

The overall Blognation network currently covers the following countries:

• Belgium
• Canada
• Germany
• Ireland
• Italy
• UK
• USA

In addition to looking at technology news from each of these countries, they aim to cover mobile and mobile-web news and keep note of upcoming events in the tech/mobile sectors. All in all it’s good to see a solid network being launched that won’t just be focussing on the American market.
