Graphic and Web Designers Rejoice! Rsizr is here.

Have you ever tried to crop an image to squeeze it into a design? Constrained by website layouts or that little bit of space left on a brochure that needs to be utilised, you end up with an ultra-cropped segment of a photo, some hint of a larger picture.

Now there is a new way to resize photos and Rsizr brings seam carving to the masses.

Objects, Ampersands and Validation

This post began with the intention of spreading the word on Google Map’s new embed feature. It encountered some difficulties along the way and has become a small campaign to provide some answers.

Irish Web Design Awards

The Golden Spider awards are fast approaching. These awards put themselves forward as the Oscars of web design in Ireland, and considering their high-profile amongst Irish web-users we decided to take a closer look at what previous years have delivered.

The results don’t paint a pretty picture, especially if you consider web-design based on standards and accessibility to be an important factor. Web design in Ireland is littered with archaic coding practices and we thought that a web awards system would consider it important to reward the forward-thinking companies that have embraced web standards. Unfortunately this is not the case.
